I adore this venue for portraits because it has such a huge variety of different looks. When you first get to the venue you see this large wooden building with a covered deck that leans out over the pond. It is rustic but has a little modern feel to it with all the contemporary straight lines and large windows.
Then around the pond there is the wooden boardwalk which you can see in this photo. This is great for bridal photo shoots when keeping the dress clean is a priority, we can use this wooden pathway and not worry too much about any dirt.
There are also multiple bridges around the grounds from small rustic bridges to large modern bridges, little creeks, a bamboo garden which always adds a cool look to photos. Then there is obviously the classic natural look for the huge oak trees and grass areas that you would find in a New Orleans or Baton Rouge park. The fantastic thing is, you have all this in one area here.
This means that when we have a short amount of time to shoot, like we had with Mallory and most brides, we can get lots of different looks all with a similarity to them so the album or wall collection flows and looks outstanding.
